History

It all began one summer afternoon when Rickard Riblom was driving with a friend. The radio was playing Tom Waits’ “Hold on”. “I love this song!” Rickard exclaimed wishing he could hear the song one more time. This sowed the idea that would later become the PopCatcher technology – separating music from talk and commercials and recording the music. The company PopCatcher AB was founded by Rickard and his brother Jakob in 2000. The technology was patented and the development began of the first software. The first steps to become a full scale licensing company were taken. Since then the market has been tested with a teaser product released in Scandinavia and also sold by a licensing customer in UK, France and Germany. From the initial time of research until now, PopCatcher has been awarded fine prizes for its products and technologies.
